User Labels allow Administrators to customise the names used to represent different user types throughout the platform.
This is useful where your organisation uses different terminology. For example, you may prefer to refer to a Worker as an Employee, Learner, Member or another term relevant to your organisation.
Changes to User Labels are reflected throughout the platform.
Access User Labels
To manage User Labels:
- Go to User Accounts.
- Select Forms & Labels from the top navigation.
- Select User Labels.
User Labels can be accessed from the Forms & Labels menu within User Accounts.
Change a User Label
The User Labels page displays the available user types and allows you to specify both a Singular Name and Plural Name.
User types that can be customised include:
- Admin
- Manager
- Worker
- Business
- Contractor
- Visitor
To change a label:
- Locate the user type you want to rename.
- Enter the required name in the Singular Name field.
- Enter the corresponding name in the Plural Name field.
- Repeat for any other user types you want to customise.
- Select Save.
For example, you could change:
Worker → Employee
Worker → Employees
The customised terminology will then appear in relevant areas throughout the platform.
User Labels: Configure the singular and plural terminology used for each user type.
Reset a User Label
To return a customised User Label to its platform default:
- Delete the customised value from the relevant field so that it is blank.
- Select Save.
The platform will revert that label to its default terminology.
Important
Custom User Labels change how user types are displayed throughout the platform. They do not change the underlying user type, permissions or functionality.
For example, renaming Worker to Employee changes the terminology displayed to users but does not create a new user type or change the access associated with the Worker account.
Custom User Labels are also not applied to Certificate variables or Email Template variables. These areas continue to use the underlying platform terminology.
